LAKE ZURICH, Ill. — Pam Meyer, equipment sales manager for Subaru Industrial Power Products, has been elected to the board of directors of the American Rental Association (ARA), an international trade association serving the equipment rental industry. She began her two-year term as Associate Member Director at the conclusion of The Rental Show, ARA’s annual trade show and convention held Feb. 5-8, 2012, in New Orleans.
Meyer has served as equipment sales manager with Subaru for nearly 8 years, overseeing the sales of Subaru generators and pumps, building and maintaining relationships with rental center partners, and directing the company’s efforts to expand into new markets. In her time with Subaru, Meyer has developed a comprehensive understanding of the rental market, its needs and expectations.
Furthermore, Meyer has been active in the rental industry for more than 30 years and has attended ARA’s The Rental Show for 22 consecutive years. She has served on the ARA Construction and Industrial Services Shared Interest Group and has been active in ARA state associations for many years. In this board position, Meyer will represent the perspective of ARA associate members who manufacture and supply equipment to the rental market.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge of each facet of ARA with suppliers and manufacturers and their manufacturer representatives, and encouraging members to step forward to volunteer for local, state and national service.”

ARA’s mission is to promote the success of members and advance the growth of the equipment rental industry. ARA’s volunteer board of directors includes rental business owners and associate members who work with ARA staff to oversee the association and its programs. The board consists of four officers and 15 directors who serve either a two-year or three-year term. Through elections held each year, one-third of the members rotate off the board, which provides continuity to the board while incorporating new thinking and innovative approaches.
